Doug Litwin

I have been a member of the SFLGFB since August 1985 and am proud to have performed at every one of the Dance-Along Nutcracker® shows.

Since the Band moved to its current organizational structure several years ago, I have served on the Board of Directors as the Secretary (with the exception of 2010). I was honored to be elected as President in early 2017. Previous to that, during the era of the Jon Sims Center for the Performing Arts, I served on that Board, as well as holding such positions as Librarian, PR manager, and Marching Director. I have won numerous awards over the years, including the Jon Sims Award in 2000 – 2001.

While my first love is with the SFLGFB, I was also a 20-year member of the LGBA Board of Directors (serving as their President from 1994 – 1998). Through LGBA and the Gay Games, I got involved with the Federation of Gay Games and am now serving on their Board as Officer of Marketing. As if that weren’t enough non-profit boards, I also serve as the Secretary of the Jon Sims Endowment for the Performing Arts. OK, I admit it… I’m a Board geek!

Also, like some of you, I’m bi-sectional (clarinet, percussion).
