Celebrate all things California – from the redwood forests to the Hollywood film industry – at this lively concert. Concert includes a new arrangement of Ferde Grofe’s Watering Hole movement from the Death Valley Suite by Kevin Tam.

The concert in Davis will be part of the annual UC Davis “Picnic Day” celebration and will be a joint performance with the UC Davis Concert Band. This will be the 100th Picnic Day, a cherished event for the University of California. More information about Picnic Day is at http://picnicday.ucdavis.edu/
The concert in Woodland will be a joint performance with the Woodland Community Band, under the direction of Bobby Rogers.
Mr. Nowlen has served as University of California, Davis’ Director of Concert Bands since 2002, and as a member of the UC Davis faculty since 1988 and of the California State University, Sacramento faculty since 1990. He was a member of the French horn section of the Sacramento Symphony from 1987 to 1996, and is active as an orchestral and chamber musician and conductor.
