Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band in celebrating 2016 Chinese New Year – the year of the Monkey! The San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band will be marching in San Francisco’s Chinese New Year Parade.

The San Francisco Chinese New Year Festival and Parade is the largest celebration of its kind attracting over three million spectators and television viewers throughout the U.S., Canada and Asia. On both KTVU/FOX – Channel 2 and KTSF – Channel 26, the parade is telecast live!

The SFLGFB has a long and rewarding history of marching in the SF Chinese New Year Parade. SFLGFB’s participation in this professionally judged parade dates back to 1979 and the band has proudly won several awards for stellar performances.

The Parade starts at 2nd and Market Streets, circles Union Square, then heads north on Kearny to Chinatown. The San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade is an amazing spectacle to behold – we hope to see you there, but if you can’t make it to the parade in person, be sure to watch on T.V.!
