Join the band on a musical journey as the San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band brings to life music inspired by masterpieces.

The San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band is proud to showcase a program inspired by masterpieces across many artistic disciplines!

  • Pictures at an Exhibition – Modest Mussorgsky’s seminal masterpiece takes the audience on a musical tour of an art gallery showcase for fellow Russian artist Viktor Hartmann.
  • Of Sailors and Whales – A multi-movement tone poem inspired by Herman Melville’s classic Moby Dick.
  • Riften Wed – Composer Julie Giroux brings us into the beautiful but deadly world of Bethesda’s epic video game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
  • Noisy Wheels of Joy – Jubilant and raucous, Eric Whitacre’s piece emulates the rising action of a scene from a modern Hollywood blockbuster.
